Anchetil de Greye (c. 1052 – after 1086) is listed in the Domesday Book as the lord of six Oxfordshire manors. His descendant Sir Henry de Grey was the first of the Anglo-Norman Grey family who were called to parliament, raised to the peerage, married into royalty, appointed army generals, and consecrated bishops, as well as later distinguishing themselves in other professions.
3 de ago. de 2021 · Henry George Grey, 3rd Earl Grey (styled Viscount Howick 1807-1845) was born at Howick, Northumberland, in 1802 and died there in 1894. The eldest son and heir of Charles, 2nd Earl Grey (Prime Minister 1830-1834), he followed his father into politics in 1826, when he was elected M.P. for Winchelsea in the Whig interest.
He was a son of George Grey, 2nd Earl of Kent and his first wife Anne Woodville. His maternal grandparents were Richard Woodville, 1st Earl Rivers and Jacquetta of Luxembourg. His father was secondly married to Catherine Herbert. His paternal half-brothers included Henry Grey, 4th Earl of Kent.
