Robert was due to marry his cousin Euphemia Stewart, only child of David Stewart, Earl of Strathearn. The dispensation for this marriage was given in 1414. Robert died and his younger brother Walter was then betrothed to Euphemia in 1415, making the date for Robert’s death likely sometime between the two dispensations.
