Ernst II, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (13 September 1863 – 11 December 1950); married Princess Alexandra of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Princess Elise Victoria Feodora Sophie Adelheid of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (4 September 1864 – 18 March 1929); married Heinrich XXVII, Prince Reuss Younger Line.
He was born in Crailsheim, West Germany, the middle child and only son of Kraft, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (1935–2004) and his first wife, Princess Charlotte of Cro (b. 1938). Paternally, he is a grandson of Princess Margarita of Greece and Denmark, and a grandnephew of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, whose funeral he attended.

Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. At the death of his father on 12 April 1860, Carl Ludwig inherited the title, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (German: Fürst zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg). He renounced the title on 21 April 1860 in favour of his younger brother Hermann, after he intended to marry unequally.
Ernst II, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, was a German aristocrat, and the Regent of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha during the minority of his wife's cousin, Duke Charles Edward, from 1900 to 1905. Ernst was the oldest of three children, and the only son, of Hermann, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, and Princess Leopoldine of Baden.
