    Guido Brignone was the son of the actor Giuseppe Brignone. The actress Merceded Brignone was his sister. In 1913 he started as an actor and in 1916 he directed his first movie. In 1934 he was the first Italian director to win the prize for Best Italian Movie at the Venice Film Festival with his movie "Teresa Confalonieri".
