David Graf was born on April 16, 1950, in Zanesville, Ohio, USA. He studied at Lancaster High School and later enrolled at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. He studied theatre and graduated in 1972. From 1972 to 1975, he attended graduate school at The Ohio State University and ultimately dropped out from there to pursue his acting career.
