Nigel George Planer (born 22 February 1953) is a English comedian, actor, musician, novelist and playwright. He took over as the narrator for the English version of The Magic Roundabout after Eric Thompson's death where he provided narrations for the episodes that weren't translated and made retellings of the previous episodes.

Nigel Planer was a member of the Comic Strip, a loose collective of actors and comedians who changed British comedy forever in the early 1980s. Having studied drama at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Planer formed a double act with a comic named Peter Richardson.
