Underworld: Awakening nggak banyak menunjukan perubahan dari kualitas cerita maupun adegan laga. Bahkan dibanding film-film sekuelnya, film ini bisa dibilang memiliki cerita yang paling sederhana. Sayangnya kesederhanaan itu malah menjebak installment keempat Underworld ini kembali hanya memamerkan effect dalam adegan laganya.
