Tras la publicación de este trabajo Emerson, sentía que The Nice ya había avanzado musicalmente hasta el punto de creer que no podían seguir avanzando. Mientras estaban de gira por Estados Unidos con King Crimson, mantuvo una reunión con Stratton-Smith (Productor) y declaró que "The Nice había dejado de ser útil".
