Average White Band (fréquemment surnommé AWB) est un groupe britannique de funk avec des succès soul et disco entre 1974 et 1980. Il est notamment connu pour la chanson Pick Up the Pieces . Le groupe continue de se produire en 2008, avec Alan Gorrie et Onnie McIntyre comme seuls membres d'origine.

19 de abr. de 2024 · Their breakthrough came when their second album, AWB, hit No. 1 in 1974 and spawned a smash in the horn-powered instrumental “Pick Up the Pieces.”. Their success continued with unstoppable party-starters like 1975’s Cut the Cake and 1976’s Soul Searching. After making the shift from funk to disco, the group ended their original run in 1983.
