It is also possible that she was an illegitimate granddaughter of Henry VIII through her grandmother, Mary Boleyn’s, affair with Henry, possibly resulting in her mother, Catherine Carey.
Lettice Knollys Devereux Dudley Blount died, aged 91, on 25th December 1634. She left instructions to be buried "at Warwick by my dear lord and husband the Earl of Leicester with whom I desire to be entombed". Her probate inventory valued her possessions at £6,645 11s. 4d.

By her second marriage to Elizabeth I's favourite, Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, she incurred the Queen's unrelenting displeasure.
