Thomas Radclyffe (or Ratclyffe), 3rd Earl of Sussex KG (c. 1525 – 9 June 1583), was Lord Deputy of Ireland during the Tudor period of English history, and a leading courtier during the reign of Elizabeth I.
Sir Henry de Radcliffe was born on 26 November 1122, in Radcliffe, Lancashire, England as the son of Sir Nicholas Fitz-Gilbert, de Radcliffe and Goditha Booths de Saxon Thane. He married Joan Margaret Booth about 1162, in Ordsall, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 1 daughter.

Burke's Peerage agrees on the date but changes the year to 1537. Either way, Henry would not remain a widower for long.
Henry Radclyffe was a son of Robert Radclyffe, 1st Earl of Sussex, and he was a cousin of Arthur, Prince of Wales, Margaret Tudor, Henry VIII of England, Mary Tudor, and other members of the ruling House of Tudor. He married a daughter of Thomas Howard, 2nd Duke of Norfolk, and he succeeded his father as Earl of Sussex in 1542.
