10 de ago. de 2012 · Sir Thomas Parr of Kendal (1407–1461/ [2]24 November 1464 [1] *) was an English landowner and elected Member of Parliament six times between 1435 and 1459. He was great-grandfather of Queen Katherine Parr, the sixth wife of King Henry VIII. Sir Thomas was the son of Sir John Parr and Agnes Crophull (or Crophill) (c.1371/72-3 February 1438). [1]
28 de abr. de 2022 · "The eldest son, Sir Thomas Parr, was knighted and was sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1509; he was master of the wards and comptroller to Henry VIII. He was rich, owing to his succeeding, in 1512, to half the estates of his cousin, Lord FitzHugh, and also to his marriage with Maud Green, daughter and co-heiress of Sir Thomas Green of Boughton and Greens Norton in Northamptonshire.
When Margaret Parr was born about 1425, in Kendal, Westmorland, England, her father, Sir Thomas Parr, was 20 and her mother, Alice Tunstall, was 22. She married Sir Thomas Radcliffe about 1447, in Cumberland, England. They were the parents of at least 6 sons and 4 daughters. She died on 9 May 1476, in Cumberland, England, at the age of 52.
22 de sept. de 2012 · Katherine’s great-grandfather, Sir Thomas Parr (b.1407) was Sheriff of Westmorland and Escheator of Cumberland & Westmorland. He married Alice Tunstall, co-heiress of Sir Thomas Tunstall of Thurland Castle and Isabel Harrington. By this connection she was a cousin to Bishop Cuthbert Tunstall who served Henry VIII and all of his children.

Sheriff of Northampton 1509, and of Lincoln 1510. Sir Thomas was found to have held messuages, lands, woods, and rents in Parr, Wigan, and Sutton, with the manor of Thurnham.
