10 de abr. de 2021 · As Terence MacSwiney (qv), lord mayor of Cork, died slowly on hunger strike in prison, Russell again wrote to The Times, publishing his poem ‘Brixton prison: August 31, 1920’ on 2 September 1920. MacSwiney read the sonnet in his cell before he died on 25 October, which is shocking considering Russell's final direction: ‘Farewell, Lightbringer, fly to thy heaven again.’
