Vakhtang Gorgasali is buried in Mtskheta, in Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. He has since been canonized as a saint by the Georgian Church. Bagrat III. Bagrat III was the first king who was able to unite Georgia. He was active from 961 to 1014.
