Prince Wolfgang of Hesse-Kassel was the fourth son of the Landgrave and Landgravine of Hesse-Kassel. He married Princess Maria Alexandra of Baden on September 17, 1924. Wolfgang died on July 12, 1989 in Offenbach am Main, Germany at age ninety-two.

In OTL, Prince Wolfgang of Hesse was supposed to be the Crown Prince of Finland, but since Germany lost WW1, Finland became a Republic, while the Prince had a pretty "interresting" life (link to the French Wiki article about him) and eventually wed Princess Marie-Alexandra of Baden.

At the time of his death in Frankfurt at the age of 92, Wolfgang was the only surviving great-grandchild of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom who had been born in her lifetime.
