Today, Pamela Colman Smith is primarily remembered for designing a tarot deck, which has been known for most of the last one hundred and ten years as the Rider-Waite deck. Its name commemorates two men, the mystic A. E. Waite, who is credited with conceiving the deck, and the London publisher, William Rider, rather than the actual designer of the cards.
