The August Derleth Society is a non-profit organization formed in the late 1970’s to actively preserve the rich memory of Wisconsin’s greatest and most prolific author. Our goal is to encourage the study of August Derleth’s work and to preserve the memory of this compelling American writer, publisher, editor, columnist, environmentalist and teacher.
August Derleth (1909-1971) fue uno de los miembros principales del "círculo de Lovecraft" y su esfuerzo fue fundamental para la publicación póstuma y la difusión de gran parte de sus escritos. These sixteen stories, listed as by “H.P. Lovecraft and August Derleth,” were in fact written almost entirely by Derleth. In most cases, the stories were based on one or more ideas noted in Lovecraft’s Commonplace Book ; for example, “The Fisherman of Falcon Point” was based on this entry: “Fisherman casts his net into the sea by moonlight—what he finds.”
