23 de ene. de 2019 · Mary enjoyed riding and hunting in the French countryside. In April 1558, at the age of 15, Mary married the 14-year-old Dauphin Francis in Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris. A year later, King Henri died, and Mary became Queen of Scotland and France. However, her reign of France was brief, for in 1560 Francis became ill and died.

As the daughter of James V of Scotland and Mary Guise, she became queen when six days old, and at ten months (September 1542) was crowned by Cardinal Beaton.

Her claims to the throne of England were almost as strong as her claims to the Scottish throne. As Henry VII of England's great-granddaughter, Mary was next in line to the English throne, after Henry VIII's children.
