3 de mar. de 2022 · While the earliest corridor, Performance Corridor 1969 (fig.2), provided a restricted space for the participant, Nauman felt that it still offered too much latitude for individual performance, saying ‘it was very hard for me to present it without any particular instructions, because I felt I didn’t want people to make their own performance.

Biographie. Bruce Nauman étudie l'art et les mathématiques à l'université du Wisconsin (1960-1964) il poursuit par la suite son apprentissage dans le domaine artistique à Davis en Californie (1965-1966). Peintre abstrait à ses débuts, influencé par le mouvement dada, il refuse de se cantonner à une école artistique particulière.

Bruce Nauman is an American Conceptual artist working in a wide array of media that includes neon lights, video, and performance. A central figure of 1970s art and pioneer in the development of Post-Minimal art, Nauman’s greatest contribution is perhaps his self-analytic investigations of the creative mind and its doubts concerning the production of art.
