It's not anecdotal. I have yet to find a recording that can match this, let alone surpass it. And the 13th hand span of Liszt is a myth, probably based on the fact that he often wrote 12th or 13th chords in his earlier works. Normally, pianists simply roll such chords, and that's what Liszt did and expected.
