8. View of Delft. View of Delft is a 1659–1661 oil painting of the Dutch artist’s hometown and is one of his most well-known works, having been made at a period when cityscapes were uncommon. Along with The Little Street and the lost work House Standing in Delft, it is one of Vermeer’s three known paintings of Delft.
