Princess Marie Anne of Saxe-Altenburg (14 March 1864 – 3 May 1918) was the consort of Georg, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe. As the eldest daughter of Prince Moritz of Saxe-Altenburg and his wife Princess Augusta of Saxe-Meiningen, and a sister of Ernest II, Duke of Saxe-Altenburg, Marie Anne was a member of the Ducal House of Saxe-Altenburg.
Princess Marie Louise was the youngest daughter of Princess Helena of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg; Queen Victoria & Prince Albert 's third daughter and fifth child. George V. died in 1878 on a travel in Paris where he had attempted to re-establish his Guelphic Legion, a military unit aimed at a re-conquest of his kingdom.

Marie Anna war das älteste Kind des Prinzen Moritz von Sachsen-Altenburg (1829–1907) aus dessen Ehe mit Auguste (1843–1919), Tochter des Herzogs Bernhard II. von Sachsen-Meiningen. Damit gehörte sie dem Haus Sachsen-Altenburg an. Sie heiratete am 16. April 1882 in Altenburg den nachmaligen Fürsten Georg zu Schaumburg-Lippe (1846–1911).

He was born at Stadthagen, the fourth son of Georg, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe and his wife, Princess Marie Anne of Saxe-Altenburg (1864–1918).
