With a screenplay by Tracy Letts, and a magnificently unhinged central performance from Matthew McConaughey, Killer Joe is equal parts Southern Gothic and twisted neo-noir. When Chris is in debt to a drug lord, he decides to hire a hit man to kill his mother, whose life insurance policy is supposed to go to his sister Dottie.

29 de mar. de 2018 · Killer Joe, como película, es bastante deudora de la obra teatral. De hecho, y aunque Friedkin hace un buen trabajo como director (otra cosa hubiera sido difícilmente entendible en un profesional seguro como es él), lo cierto es que el film peca de una cierta teatralidad, aunque esté adecuadamente “aireado”.
