This is definitely one for the fans - if you are 'new' to Chic et al then you may want to stick with the 'Up All Night' 2 disc release. As for me, this provided the perfect way to extend my collection - a number of unreleased tracks and other goodies that I didn't own yet, and genuinely excellent new remixes of many of the tracks that I already own.

29 de jul. de 2013 · Up All Night is and isn’t new. It’s absolutely no coincidence that this Nile Rodgers/Chic compilation comes so soon after Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories. The latter album, which came out last May and prominently features Nile Rodgers on guitar, is more or less just a well-studied Chic homage.

This 2 disc collection is pure joy and includes so much more than the expected MONSTER hits Chic is best known for. To a long time club kid like me, it is a treasure I was elated to discover. What I really like is that some of the versions of my favorite Chic songs are either extended or slightly different from the singles, but not so much that it would bother the purists.
It includes the biggest hits from their first three albums: Chic (1977), C'est Chic (1978) and Risqué (1979). The seven-track album, which omits the 1979 hit single " My Forbidden Lover " and replaces it with "Chic Cheer" and also combines three 7-inch edits and one extended 12-inch mix with three album versions, was the only compilation to be released during the band's six years on Atlantic.
