In 1825, Buyalsky was elected an extraordinary, and in 1831, an ordinary professor at the Department of Anatomy of the Medical-Surgical Academy and a consultant to the Mariinsky Hospital (1831-1864). In 1828, he prepared “Anatomic-surgical tables explaining the production of large artery dressing operations”, which became the first national atlas of topographic anatomy and operative surgery.
