Stars. Died March 1, 1952 of heart attack in Malibu, CA. G regory La Cava was a pioneer film director, producer and writer. After art training in Chicago and New York he became a cub reporter in Rochester, N.Y., and then a comic strip artist in New York. He is credited with being one of the pioneers of animated cartooning.
