Dorothea Sophie of Neuburg (5 July 1670 – 15 September 1748) was Duchess of Parma from 1695 to 1727 by marriage to Francesco, Duke of Parma. She served as Regent of the Duchy of Parma for her grandson Charles of Spain between 1731 and 1735.

Two months later, Sophia Dorothea returned to the Castle of Ahlden, where she became known as the Duchess of Ahlden. While there, she was under the watchful eye of the Seigneur de la Fortière.
Biography. Born as Duchess Sophie Marie Dorothea Auguste Louis of Württemberg, daughter of Friedrich II Eugen, Duke of Württemberg, known as Sophia Dorothea. Changed name to Maria Feodorovna on her marriage to Grand Duke Paul, later Tsar Paul I of Russia in 1776. She had ten children, including Tsar Alexander I and Tsar Nicholas I.
There was some talk of marriage between Sophia Dorothea and the (then) future king of Denmark, but the reigning queen was talked out of it by Sophia of Hanover (her future mother-in-law). Another engagement to the duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel was broken off after Duchess Sophia convinced her brother-in-law of the advantage of having Sophia Dorothea marry her cousin.
Duchess Anna of Prussia and Jülich-Cleves-Berg (3 July 1576 – 30 August 1625) was Electress consort of Brandenburg and Duchess consort of Prussia by marriage to John Sigismund, Elector of Brandenburg. [1] [2] She was the daughter of Albert Frederick, Duke of Prussia, and Marie Eleonore of Cleves .
1 de sept. de 2023 · George's marriage to Sophia Dorothea was dissolved, not on the grounds that either of them had committed adultery, but on the grounds that Sophia Dorothea had abandoned her husband. With the concurrence of her father, George had Sophia Dorothea imprisoned in Ahlden House in her native Celle, where she stayed until she died more than thirty years later on November 13, 1726.
Sophia Dorothea was born in 1759 in Stettin, Pomerania, the daughter of Frederick II Eugene, duke of Wurttemberg, and Sophia Dorothea of Brandenburg . She was brought up in a close-knit and happy family living in the town of Montbéliard close to the French frontier. Her limited home education stressed morals and manners, dancing and needlepoint.
