Prince and Landgrave Wilhelm of Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld (in German, Wilhelm Chlodwig Friedrich Ernst Hermann Paul Philipp Heinrich Prinz und Landgraf von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld; August 14, 1933) is the Landgrave and current head of one of the two remaining branches of the House of Hesse, that of Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld, a noble title dating from the late Holy Roman Empire.

Alexis era un hijo del Landgrave Carlos de Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld (1784-1854) fruto de su segundo matrimonio con Sofía (1794-1873), la hija del Príncipe Luis Guillermo Galderico de Bentheim y Steinfurt. Sucedió a su padre en 1854 como Landgrave de Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld. Fue General de Caballería à la suite.

Biografía. Adolfo fue un hijo del landgrave Guillermo de Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld (1692-1761) de su matrimonio con Carlota Guillermina (1704-1766), hija del príncipe Lebrecht de Anhalt-Zeitz-Hoym. Adolfo sucedió a su hermano, Federico, que no tenía descendencia, como landgrave de Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld en 1777.
