Jasper was now, 27 Oct. 1485, created Duke of Bedford and a privy councillor; he was on 11 Dec. 1485 restored to his earldom of Pembroke, and succeeded his old rival Herbert as chief justice of South Wales.

Ele era filho de Owen Tudor, e de Catarina de Valois, viúva do rei Henrique V. Jasper era irmão uterino de Henrique VI e tio de Henrique VII.
