About Stowe School. The academic experience at Stowe School is designed to encourage intellectual curiosity, a thirst for knowledge and understanding and independence of thought and expressions. Pupils are asked to be committed and enthusiastic learners, to embrace challenges and to see failure as a necessary step in achieving progress.
The Houses may be accessed until 9.00pm. Our Day Pupils attend School on Saturday until matches and activities finish between 3.00pm and 6.00pm. They are however welcome to join our Boarders for whole year events (such as discos), as and when they take place. For our Sixth Formers this includes participation in StoweBucks until 10.30pm.
Former pupils of Stowe School are known as Old Stoics. The abbreviation OS is sometimes used. Founded in 1923 as a school specifically for boys, the school is now co-educational.
Stowe School has created an interactive augmented reality (AR) nature trail which is being hosted by the National Trust at Stowe Landscape Gardens this Summer, launching on Sunday 26 May and running until the end of the end of the holidays.
