Las office phone booth cumplen con las funciones básicas que requiere la privacidad de los empleados: sonoridad, visual, física e informativa. Sin embargo, lo cierto es que estas cabinas no están concebidas para reemplazar el espacio de trabajo principal, sino que su función en la oficina es ofrecer privacidad y concentración en el momento que sea necesario.
La historia de partida de "Phone Booth" es trepidante, bastante inverosímil y suficientemente original, pero el resto de la película es como todos sus personajes de fuera de la cabina: un par de retazos vacíos, sin profundidad, sin ninguna implicación por parte del espectador (por mí, como si liquidaba a novias, polis y transeúntes varios).
