Every year on the 25th of April, parliament celebrates a “sessão solene comemorativa” on the anniversary of the Carnation Revolution. This celebration even occurred during the covid-19 pandemic, although with some restrictions.
Anniversary of the Revolution was the first feature-length documentary directed by the legendary pioneering filmmaker Dziga Vertov. The film portrays the developments surrounding the period from February 1917 (the bourgeois February Revolution) to the end of the summer of 1918 (the beginning of the Civil War).
