Lower School K-3. /. Message from the Lower School Head. Elementary school is a very important time in a child’s life since it’s the first time children are learning to be students in a formal educational environment. They begin to develop relationships and understand how to collaborate and resolve conflicts.

The John Thomas Dye School (JTD) is an independent, co-educational school serving 336 students in Grades K-6 on an 11-acre campus in Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles. Since its founding in 1929, JTD has stayed true to the Mission of our founders, Cathryn and John Dye, to provide a program of academic excellence, one both traditional and dynamic.
