The recent expansion of the Sixth Form to admit girls has been hugely successful. The quality of education in the Sixth Form is exceptional, enabling all students to thrive. Sixth-formers play a full role in school life, with many having significant leadership responsibilities. In addition, many students actively support the local community.

Dr Challoner’s Grammar School (also known as DCGS, Challoner's Boys or Challoner's) was founded in 1624 after Robert Chaloner left money in his will to establish a grammar school in Amersham. The school is now an all-boys grammar school with a mixed sixth form. The school became an academy in 2011.

Dr Challoner’s was grant aided by the Board of Education until 1937, and then became a maintained County Grammar School. In the early 1960s, the pressure for more grammar school places in the district became so great that the decision was made to build a new school in Little Chalfont, solely for girls, and Dr Challoner’s Grammar School would revert to boys only.
