Maud of Fife. Princess Patricia of Connaught , later Lady Patricia Ramsay ( 17 March 1886 – 12 January 1974) was a member of the British Royal Family, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria. She was the first member of the Royal Family to formally relinquish her title of a British princess and the style of Her Royal Highness.
Patricia was born on 17 March 1886 at Buckingham Palace, the youngest of three children to Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, and Princess Louise Margaret of Prussia, Duchess of Connaught. She was named Victoria for her paternal grandmother, Queen Victoria , and Patricia because she was born on St. Patrick’s Day.

On 8th October 1972, Sir Alexander Ramsay died at the couples home, Ribsden Holt in Windlesham, Surrey, which had had been bequeathed to them by Patricia’s aunt, Princess Louise. It was here that Patricia, too, died just over a year later on 12th January 1974. She was aged 84.
