The role of a Headmaster's wife is vitally important in a boarding community such as ours. Sandroyd is, at its core, a family boarding school. We joined the school in September 2016 with our two young daughters, Hattie and Isla, and have since become part of a wider family that consists of over 200 boys and girls.

Sandroyd is a registered Pony Club Centre and a licensed riding school . We are members of the NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association) and our pupils regularly compete at the qualifying competitions and have qualified for the Championships for the last few years. Children are welcome to board at Sandroyd from the age of 7 when they join year 3. However, we tend to have more boarders as we go up through the school. All of our year 7 and 8 boarders are expected to board five nights a week at Sandroyd. What is an “Exeat” weekend? Exeat weekends are when the school closes for the weekend.
On Sunday 7th July 2019 we have a wonderful gathering of Old Sandroydians in celebration of the Sandroyd Alumni. The day started with a drinks reception, followed by a Headmaster's welcome in the Theatre. The Friends of Sandroyd Committee brings together parents and school staff to organise social events throughout the year for the benefit of the Sandroyd children and families. Funds raised from these events go towards the school’s chosen charities, chosen by the children each term, as well as specific projects within the school.
Sandroyd has been acknowledged with the school being named Independent Boarding School of the Year 2023 at the Independent Schools of the Year. Sandroyd is thrilled to have won such a tremendous accolade, shortlisted as one of eight finalists, and then recognised above all senior and prep schools in the UK.
