Henri-Évrard, marquis de Dreux-Brézé (1762–1829) was a member of the French nobility who at the age of twenty-seven played a role in the meeting of the states-general in 1789. Brézé had succeeded his father Thomas as court master of the ceremonies to Louis XVI in 1781, and was a descendant of Michel de Dreux-Brézé .
Urbain de Maillé-Brézé was born in 1597, to Charles de Maillé, S (1568-1613), Seigneur of Brézé, and Jacqueline de Thévalle. His father was described as an 'écuyer' , an indication that he belonged to the nobility ; two years after his death in 1615, Jacqueline purchased the title of Marquis .

The tomb of Louis de Brézé, husband of Diane de Poitiers, in the Rouen cathedral, is generally attributed to Goujon. We do not know the exact date of the monument, but Brézé died in 1531, and the tomb is believed to have been put up by his widow, probably in the following years.
