"The Twilight Zone" was the brainchild of Emmy Award-winner Rod Serling, who served as host and wrote over 80 episodes of the original show's 150-plus episode run. It's a strange mix of horror, science-fiction, drama, comedy and superstition. Serling introduced each episode, and many of the black and white hours concluded with a surprise ending.
From 1959-1964, TV was a journey into the past, present and future, and the creator of "The Twilight Zone," Rod Serling set new standards for science fiction, horror and the bizarre in this fantastic TV series. Serling's introductions and conclusions to the episodes are fitting and his voice and writing seized my senses in many of the episodes.

The original The Twilight Zone anthology series began on October 2, 1959, and ended on June 19, 1964, with five seasons and 156 episodes. It was created by Rod Serling and broadcast on CBS . Later popularity of the series brought about a 1983 feature film and three "revival" television series in 1985 , 2002 , and 2019 , though none reached the same level of success as the original run.
