She initially rose to prominence for her performance in the 2006 French drama film Don't Worry, I'm Fine for which she later won the César Award for Most Promising Actress and the Prix Romy Schneider.
Mélanie Laurent is supported by the Banque Populaire Foundation, the Fonds de Tarrazi, the Meyer Foundation, and the Mécénat Musical Société Générale. She plays a Style 23 Gold Concert Grand harp by Lyon & Healy, which she won at the USA International Harp Competition, and an Atlantide Prestige by the French harp maker Camac.
