Lui [Pino Locchi] è stato per me un mito e devo confessare che all'inizio della mia carriera cercavo di imitarlo. Poi sono cresciuto e ho capito che dovevo crearmi una mia identità. Ne avevo tanti di miti, come ad esempio [ Peppino Rinaldi ] che forse è stato il più grande di tutti, ma sentivo che ero più simile a Locchi e che poteva essere, per me, un punto di riferimento.
