6 de jul. de 2023 · In 1936, Lithuanian wrestler Karl Pojello visited Paris, where he spotted Tillet working as a doorman for a movie studio. That face, he thought, belonged in the ring.
In all the stories, there is one common denominator – Tillet met Karl Pojello, a professional wrestler, in 1937. Pojello, fascinated by Tillet’s unique appearance, convinced him to become a professional wrestler as he thought that Tillet would be a major draw.
11 de abr. de 2014 · El 4 de septiembre de 1954, Karl Pojello muere tras una larga lucha contra el cáncer de pulmón. Apenas 12 horas después, ese mismo día, Maurice Tillet muere de un ataque cardíaco.
Karolis Požėla died on September 4, 1954 from lung cancer. Upon hearing of the death of Karl, Maurice Tillet had a heart attack. He was taken to Cook County Hospital where he died on the same day. They are buried together. Pojello"s friend and promoter Tamašiūnas built them a gravestone.
