The final meeting is too warm and pleasant – it should have that edge of regret, memory, pain and nostalgia mixed together, the dialog has been watered down, the hint of bitterness discarded. Unfortunately it suffers greatly by comparison, because taken by itself it is a very solid, beautifully shot production.

«The Offence» tiene mucho más de película de análisis psicológico que de un thriller al uso, con una trama de investigación que interesa muy poco o nada a los cineastas, los cuales se centran en la violenta reacción del personaje de Connery a través de los diálogos con su esposa (Vivien Marchent) o uno de los altos cargos policiales (Trevor Howard).
Polished BBC drama which leaves a lot to be desired. Focuses too much on a that dreamy visual story then actually living one. That also made the stand-out emotional scenes seem ridiculously exaggerated in comparison. Still there are likable performances and the innocence of it is sweet.
