Booker T. Jones. Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger and producer, born 12 November 1944 in Memphis, Tennessee. Founding member of Stax ' in-house band Booker T & The MG's in 1962. He left Booker T & The MG's and the label in 1970, to embark on a career as a producer and solo artist. Father of Booker T. Jones III and Liv Jones.
Booker T. Jones (né le 12 novembre 1944 à Memphis (Tennessee)) [1] est un multi-instrumentiste, arrangeur et producteur américain de musique soul. Musicien de studio , connu surtout comme claviériste (orgue électrique et piano), il est un des membres fondateurs du groupe Booker T. & the M.G.'s .
Booker T. Jones spielte mit Ray Charles, Neil Young und Natalie Merchant. Außerdem spielt er immer noch mit Booker T. & the M.G.’s und mit seiner eigenen Booker T. Jones Band. Jones wurde 1992 in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame aufgenommen und erhielt zusammen mit The M.G.’s am 11. Februar 2007 einen Grammy Award für das Lebenswerk.
