One of his descendants, Gilbert de Lacy, helped with the Norman invasion of Ireland. The De Lacy family was a powerful family in Anglo-Irish politics.

Ermeline died, so the whole inheritance passed to Emma's son Gilbert de Lacy. Robert de Lacy the only clearly proven son of Ilbert who survived him.
