Vaz was responsible for tutoring Catherine's daughter, Princess Maria, as well as Catherine's niece, also called Maria, and a scholar in her own right. After the death of her husband in 1557, she was challenged by her daughter-in-law and niece, Joan of Austria, over the role of regent for her grandchild, the infant King Sebastian.

At Tordesillas, Catherine had a small dog and a parrot, and she often surprised members of her family with animals: three civet cats in Empress Isabella's collection were sent from Lisbon.
6 de ago. de 2021 · Katharina von Habsburg was born in 1320. She was the daughter of Leopold I Herzog von Österreich and Catherine de Savoie. She married, firstly, Enguerrand VI de Coucy, Sire de Coucy before 12 January 1337. She married, secondly, Graf Conrad von Hardegg in 1348. She died in 1349.

The 1396 will of Blanche of Navarre (c.1331–98), dowager queen of France, has long been of interest to scholars for the extraordinary detail of its bequests; it is unusual in that it describes the provenance of many of the objects that Blanche owned, and in some cases elaborates on the motivation of the queen for bestowing an object on a particular heir.
