Nicolás Fouquet nació el 27 de enero de 1615 en París, Francia. Proveniente de una familia acomodada, Fouquet recibió una excelente educación y mostró un talento innato para las finanzas desde temprana edad. Estudió leyes y se graduó en la prestigiosa Universidad de Orleans.
