Biografi. John Carpenter är utbildad på Western Kentucky University och filmskolan på University of Southern California i Los Angeles. Under tiden på USC gjorde han den Oscarsbelönade kortfilmen The Resurrection of Bronco Billy (1970) och kultklassikern Dark Star (1974). Han verkar främst inom skräckfilmsgenren.
