Exactly. Polish has 7 cases and 3 genders. English has a number of constructs like conditionals and tenses and AFAIK people still argue what is the exact number and how to group them. Somehow Poles use all those cases while (native and non-native) English speakers don't use most tenses outside of class and some jobs.
