Parlophone is een van oorsprong Duits platenlabel, in 1896 opgericht door Carl Lindström. Aanvankelijk was de naam Parlophon , maar rond 1920 werd de 'e' aan de naam toegevoegd. Van 1927 tot 2013 was het onderdeel van de Britse platenmaatschappij EMI .

By the early/mid 50s they were releasing increasingly more spoken word and novelty recordings, and were also building up a roster of new young Jazz musicians and former dance band ‘Pop’ singers But hit records were few and far between.
