24 de nov. de 2017 · The best times to visit Big Bend National Park is in spring and fall. Temperatures will be mild: not too hot for long hikes, and not too cold for camping under the stars. Summers are sweltering, with temperatures regularly surpassing 100 degrees, and winters can be harsh and freezing in the desert.

That is NOT typical for the majority of the park's area. Temperatures over the majority of the park desert and along the Rio Grande will always be 10 degrees hotter.

It takes 5 hours to drive to Big Bend, with a distance of 315 miles. We flew into El Paso and drove to Big Bend National Park. It is somewhat of a monotonous drive, on a mix of multi-lane highways and two-lane roads. The speed limit is high (usually around 70 mph) so you can cover a lot of distance quickly.
